Hints and Tips for House Cleaning

* Restock your cleaning cabinet – make it a priority to replace your toxic conventional cleaning products with healthier, non-toxic alternatives. The good news is this will save you money and space too! You don’t need a different product for every cleaning task because green products are very versatile. All you need to start is an all-purpose cleaner (which is concentrated and lasts a long time), a liquid soap, a non-chlorine bleach and a heavy-duty cleaner for tough jobs. Please ask about our products that can be purchased when you set up your cleaning schedule or as a separate enjoyment for a healthier home!

* Housecleaning Rule of thumb – if something makes your eyes tear, your nose crinkle or your skin itch….GET RID OF IT! Clean up your life, your home and your office, one spritz at a time!

* Find out what’s actually IN your chemical products at National Library of Medicine’s Household Products Database at householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov. (find products that are free of dyes, fragrance and phosphates) in addition to words like “nontoxic,” “biodegradable,” and “recyclable.”

* Reinvest in Indoor plants this winter which can dramatically improve air qualify. All plants convert carbon dioxide to oxygen, but some actually remove chemicals like benzene and formaldehyde from the air. We suggest Chinese Evergreen, Peacelily, Arrowhead Vine, English Ivy, Corn plants, Spider plants and daisies and chrysanthemums are good too. Don’t forget to dust your plants regularly!
